The Beach Club at Bimini
One of the highlights of our trip with Virgin Voyages was visiting Bimini Beach Club. This Beach Resort is Virgin’s answer to the “private island” experience found on other lines and we wanted to share what we thought about it on our trip
The Beach Club is a bit of a distance away from Bimini’s cruise port - about a 25 minute walk. You can take a free tram which takes about 5 minutes. Though the lines in the morning can be quite long, rest assured the tram runs quite frequently; about every 15-30 minutes. You get great views of the surrounding waters of the Atlantic Ocean along the way. After a couple of stops, you will arrive at the Beach Club where you will find pools and loungers around near the entrance. You may find it quite busy, especially during a nice day. There will be entertainment around like DJ, dancers, and other activities.
If you’re an introvert and not a fan of the party scene, there is an alternative for you - away from the beach you can find seating areas. Now, If you want to be closer to the water on good weather days it can get busy - to the point where there are no loungers. The first time we went, all the chairs were taken so we searched for a spot away from others on the sand and located these cushions to enjoy a less crowded spot that was still close to the ocean. On our second trip, it wasn’t the best weather so lots of seating was available.
You won’t have to go far for food as the two food areas are closeby. To order, you simply go up and request what you’d like to a staff member and they’ll serve it to you. We had the Rum Cake, Crispy Cassava, West Indian Pumpkin Curry, and Caribbean Chicken & Coconut Curry. Overall, the food here was okay - hits and misses across the board; we did not enjoy it as much as the food you will find on the cruise ship in terms of flavour and temperature.
Snorkeling is a lot of fun here. If you head left when facing the beach you will find a rocky area where you’ll see a fair variety of fish. They do not have snorkel gear provided so be sure to bring your own. Stay close to the rocks as that is where we found the majority of the fish to be.
One of the stops prior to arriving at the Beach Club is ‘Fisherman’s Village’. It’s a nice additional free area to visit; we wrote about it here: https://nimnimnimto.blogspot.com/2025/02/fishermans-village-marina-bimini-bahamas.html
