Royal Caribbean - Perfect Day at CocoCay

The name does not lie, Perfect Day at CocoCay was indeed perfect. CocoCay is one of Royal Caribbean's private islands located in the Bahamas. The only thing we wished for was more time there. We had 8 hours to explore but the island was so vast we explored about half of the island. The 'Chill' section of the island was more aligned with what we wanted to do on this island so we spent the majority of our time at: Chill Island, Chill Grill and Oasis Lagoon. Pro tip: If you do not have mobility issues, walking is recommended over the tram service; sometimes the tram lines can be so long you may end up waiting for more than 15 minutes for a walk that is less than half that time.

Food

Delicious plate at Chill Grill

The food was amazing at CocoCay, not in the sense that the food was luxurious or grand, but that the food was perfectly fit for the beach.
'Chill Grill' had a delicious BBQ spread of chicken and burgers with Caribbean flavor. One of the most memorable was the fresh and high quality ingredients to build your own tacos. The dessert was also very delicious with brownies and cookies. There were fruits here you would not find during the entire onboard cruise - mangoes!
The buffet experience was a higher end experience in comparison to Labadee; everything from the quality of the food to even the drink dispenser and cups. There were plenty of seating options nearby which made going for seconds irresistible.
'Snack Shack' was our meal before we had to head back to the ship. It had a food truck feel where you place your order and it would be presented to you as you waited. The dining options included a chicken sandwich (highly recommend!), salads, mozzarella sticks and funnel cake. The food was fresh, flavorful and perfect after a day of snorkeling.

Chill Spots

Chill Island

Plenty of space on Chill Island

The first spot we went to was Chill Island to enjoy the snorkeling. The seating was plenty, clean and overall one of the best experiences we had on this entire cruise. The water was pristine and vast, we saw a variety of ocean life and got lost in the adventure of it all. We spent at least half the day here and it felt like just minutes, it is definitely a highlight of the entire cruise.

Area circled in green is where we recommend for an excellent snorkel experience.

Oasis Lagoon

This is the Caribbean's largest freshwater pool. There is a swim-up bar as well as a shallow and deeper segment of the pool which makes it excellent for the whole family. The pool is of course very spacious and its shape makes it feel like a small river.
